Portsmouth Cathedral Chancel

Commissioned by Portsmouth Cathedral to photograph the restoration of the Chancel roof, undertaken by contractor, Clarke Roofing.

The scope of the works included, removing old tiles and re-roofing with especially manufactured clay peg tiles, timber work, leadwork and renewing copper cladding to Mediaeval dormer windows.  Because of the historical importance of the cathedral, strict directives stipulated the grade of materials to be used; from the manufacture of the peg tiles to the type of lime mortar used in their seating.
